About The Course


The aim of the course is to train individuals to recognize a medical emergency situation at a workplace.

At the end of the course, trainees will be able to:

  • To understand the rescuer's role in the chain of survival.
  • To perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) effectively for adult and infant casualties.
  • To relief foreign body airway obstruction in a conscious and unconscious  adult and infant casualties.

Course Overview:


  • The Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Course will equip participants with knowledge and skills in resuscitating collapsed victims.
  • It is a very comprehensive course encompassing critical life saving skills , ranging from the rescuing of a chocked victim ( conscious and unconscious ) , to performing quality CPR, for both adults and infants according to the guidelines provided by the National Resuscitation Council (NRC) , Singapore.
  • Relief foreign body airway obstruction in a conscious and unconscious adult and infant casualties

Legal Requirement:

Workplace Safety and Health (First Aid) Regulations (Cap. 354A, Rg 4) Reg. 5 stipulates that “every person appointed as a first-aider shall (a) have successfully completed a training course acceptable to the Commissioner; and (b) undergo such subsequent re-training in first-aid treatment as the Commissioner may require”.

ESS Workplace literacy and numeracy Level 5 and above.

Recommended course duration : 8 hours

BCLS - 6-7hours
