This is a WSH training course for all formwork workers to facilitate and safely construct, erect, alter and dismantle the formwork structures at any work-site.


Course Overview:


This is a WSH training course for all formwork workers to facilitate and safely construct, erect, alter and dismantle the formwork structures at any work-site.


Legal Requirement:

The Workplace Safety and Health (Factories, Safety Training Courses order – clause 2 (6)) stipulates that “Any worker employed in manual labour to carry out construction work in building and engineering construction work-sites must undergo a safety and health training course approved by the Commissioner for Workplace Safety and Health.”

WSH (Construction) Regulations 2007 Reg. 9 stipulates that any person who carries out manual work in a work-site shall have received adequate safety and health training for the purpose of familiarizing the person with the hazards associated with such work and the precautions to be observed.


Course Outline:


  • State the applicable legal and other requirements for formwork and working-at-height
  • List the roles of a worker in formwork installation, alteration and dismantling
  • State the types of formwork used in the industry
  • Apply basic risk assessment for formwork activities
  • Identify hazards associated with formwork activities
  • Observe safety and health measures for formwork activities formwork activities
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for formwork activities and Working-At-Height


Target Audience:

This course is designed for personnel appointed to perform formwork activities which include formwork workers/tradesmen.


Entry Requirements :

  • Workplace Literacy & Numeracy Level 3
  • Trainees must bring along any one of the following documents (photocopy or original) to be allowed to attend the class
  • Work permit/IPA and Passport


Course Duration:

  • 7 hours (including assessment)
  • 100% attendance is compulsory
