About The Course


The aim of this course is to train personnel in the knowledge and skills in supervision of erection.

Course Overview:


Upon completion of the course, trainees will be able to identify and clearly explain the following

Material requirements for scaffolding Safety in erection and dismantling of scaffold including hazard identification and risk assessment The WSH Act 2006 (Scaffolds) Prepare and implement the scaffold inspection checklist Requirements, purposes and key points for consideration when selecting different types of scaffolds


Legal Requirements:

Under the WSH Act 2006 (Scaffolds) Regulations: “ The scaffold supervisor shall be a person who has undergone a course of training approved by the Commissioner” – Regulation 6(1).

This course of training is the “Supervision of Metal Scaffold Erection Course”.


Course Outline:


The course comprises the following modules:

Introduction to Scaffold Systems Scaffolding Materials & Parts Frame Scaffolding Requirements Birdcage Scaffolding Requirements Suspended Scaffolding Requirements Scaffolding regulations in Singapore Preparation & Formulation of inspection checklist Basic Risk Assessment on Scaffolding Safety

 

Target Audience:

This course is suitable for all Metal Scaffold Erectors who want to be Metal Scaffold Supervisors


Entry Requirement:

Physically fit and above 18 years old Successfully completed and passed MSEC (Metal Scaffold Erection Course)


Course Duration:

75 hours, inclusive 4 hours Practical Assessment and 2 hours Written Assessment. Only participants with 100% attendance will be eligible to sit for the examination Maximum class size: 12 participants


Methodology:

Classroom instruction, Case studies, Videos and photographs, other e-resources and instructional media


Assessment:

  • Written Test – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) Written short/long questions 65% passing.
  • Practical Test – Practical Demonstration

Certification:

Upon completion of the course, a safety pass and certificate of Successful Completion endorsed by Active Synergy Training & Consultancy Pte Ltd will be issued to all participants.
